Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine is primary healthcare that blends natural traditional forms of medicine with new clinical research and modern medical knowledge. Focusing on prevention, and using natural substances and treatments, Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) support and stimulate each person’s ability to heal themselves.
Virtually all chronic and most acute conditions may benefit from treatment by NDs. People of all ages can be helped.
Naturopathic training involves at least 3 years of pre-medical education, four years of Naturopathic medical training, (www.ccnm.edu) and the successful completion of rigorous North American and Provincial board exams.
Naturopathic Medicine has been a licensed profession in Ontario (www.oand.org) since 1925.

Feeling cold? Are you dreading winter because you feel cold all the time and find it hard to warm up? You may want to increase your intake of warming foods such as roasted root vegetables, onions and garlic and use warming spices such as ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, fennel and cayenne. Minimize your intake of "cold foods" such as raw vegetables, cold drinks and ice cream. NDs use Traditional Chinese Medicine to assess "heat" and "cold" in the body and to treat your unique state.
